It's been happening far too long so I'm just going to come out and ask.
WHY do you decline every submission and then just add the pictures to your Favorites gallery instead? It's been happening to myself and the photographer Hollow. I find it to be a pretty cheap shot. If you don't want people to submit work to your galleries then don't allow submissions to your galleries. If all you want is to add a ton of images to your group's favourites, do the work yourself. I shudder to think of how many "Members" of this group are not being properly featured by you because you turn everything away and then add it to your favourites- THEN YOU LEAVE A COMMENT WITH A TAG TO YOUR GROUP'S ICON WHICH IS SELF-PROMOTION. But you can't even be bothered to promote the artist you are feeding off of?! I find it to be inexcusable on a site made to bolster an artist community that you are taking corners to get your group's name out there at the expense of the art you are turning away.
Especially good, quality work like that of my photographer. The images are good quality, well edited, well lit, crisp and clear. There is not one reason for you to turn away every image he has ever submitted, or images done by him that I have submitted. Judging from the quality of what you do have in your group, there is no technical reason to turn away any of our images. So, why, have they all been declined? Only to be added to a 'favourites' gallery that is not even advertised on the group's main page... with your tag left in the comments for any and all to see? It comes across as a low blow and rather opportunistic. If this is how the group is going to be run, I'd rather just leave and have my images taken out of the 'favourites' gallery my work was down graded to.
If the point was not to promote art I wouldn't spend so much of my life doing contests and analysing every single deviation members submit. I wouldn't even add the rejected submissions to the favourites, nor would I run contests for them to have another opportunity to be added to the gallery. The group's not only about technical quality, but about creativity too. I don't mean your submissions aren't creative, I don't even usually check out who the submissions belong to. It's not about the artist in particular, so you can't generalize it that way. Another point I've found interesting in your comment was the fact that I've already accepted Hollow's artwork before. Well, what's not the funniest, but the fact that he never said anything - so you seem more bothered than himself. Also: how are members supposed to know that their artwork was added to the group's favourites if I didn't link the group's logo? Are they supposed to know it by my avatar? At last: if you were actually interested in art and not on yourself only, you'd ask why has this been declined - and not pick up your guns and be so aggressive. There is an actual reason why this deviation was declined, though it was very close to be accepted. Why would it be a problem with you? Maybe you think I don't have anything else to do than hate people for no apparent reason. I think you should figure out that not everything is as we'd like or as it is expected to be.
Hollow isn't vocal about such things anymore. Don't take him not saying anything for not noticing and not being irritated himself.
WHY, pray tell, was it declined then? Considering some of the images I've seen that actually is in the group's gallery I can't fathom a reason to say no to this or my other submissions. I've given up on asking why things are declined, as I'm always being ignored when I do so. Groups so rarely take the initiative to explain themselves in the group submissions section that it's fruitless. Usually no one even reads them, I'm sure.
And knowing me, there have been times in the past I've asked your group on why things are declined. I used to always ask the reasons when I, personally, could not understand a reason as to a decline for a group. But to have submission after submission turned away and then the group that did so promotes their avatar in my comments section? I don't really care that my image is in your favourites gallery. YOU turned it away. That's what matters. I don't need your banner posted in my comments section constantly.
One other thing: if you only care about the gallery and nothing else, please consider that's up to you. Can you imagine me having to remember carefuly those who'd like their rejected submissions to be added to the favourites and those wouldn't? You must have no idea of how workful it is to check so many submissions. Or at least you have no idea of how many they are.
Well, I understand that it might be frustrated, as I myself once asked a group why all my works have been declined and the answer was "I never said I would accept them". But this is not the case. This deviation in particular was declined because there is too much edition. It is pleasant to see, but such a photograph would never get a DD, for example, because of that. The blur seems too unnatural and there elements that were added, such as the thunderstorm. If it was on a Photomanipulation category, it would have been accepted immediately. There would be nothing relevant to point out. So, if it bothers you why all your deviations have been declined, maybe there is an overall technical problem in your style. What I mean is: maybe all of them have a certain point in common to point out, from my point of view. It is not surely the fact that they're all yours - I don't even remember your avatar or name before this. On Hollow, if he is not willing to say he's bothered, you're not the one who's got to speak for him. It's a problem between me and him. He must be the one to fight for his rights, not anyone else.
your photos are lovely. No exceptions here. In this one are many delicate gems such as: the inside lip reflection the lacy quality of the mirrored surface the intimate press against the surface the receiving openness of your lips and softness of closed eyelids expressing a trusting comfort the gentle mist fade into darkness the textural subleties of feathers, slight emboss of the paisley, wee sized chain necklace, the pulling together at the roots into a pink wave and the gathers at the braids and the wash of light over your soft skin
